Provisional. These concepts are drawn from the Academy's research corpus. Status badges reflect their epistemic standing.

Concepts

The Attention Coupling Academy develops a philosophical vocabulary drawn from a close reading of Homer's Odyssey. Each concept names a pattern, practice, or force observed in the text.

Attention Coupling

Evidence

The tuning of consciousness to latent fields of information. The capacity to sense, beneath the surface of the immediate situation, the deeper patterns that govern whether a given configuration of attention will serve or harm the organism.

Books 1, 10, 12, 15, 17–23

F(A) — The Filtering Function

Evidence

The cognitive mechanism by which attention selects from the field of possible objects those few that will become the focus of conscious engagement.

Books 1, 10, 12, 15, 17–24

Kairos

Evidence

The distinction between chronological time (Chronos) and opportune time (Kairos). The moment when discernment between attachment and release becomes possible.

Books 1, 10–12, 15, 17–24

The Proteus Principle

Evidence

The discipline of holding attention steady through transformation until all shapes exhaust and the underlying reality reveals itself.

Books 4, 10–12, 16–24

The Staller / Proxies

Evidence

Forces of delay that operate through institutional inertia, social pressure, and internalized resistance. Not enemies to be defeated but patterns to be recognized.

Books 9–10, 12, 14–19, 21–24

The Maieutic Method

Evidence

Socratic midwifery applied to the book's own structure. Concepts are experienced through narrative before they are named.

Books 9–10, 12, 15, 17–24

The Automedon Principle

Unresolved

Sustained non-heroic care: the attention that maintains what exists rather than conquering what does not. Status unclear in the corpus.

Glitchwalking

Unresolved

Operating in the gaps between conventional sequences, bypassing the filtering mechanisms that reduce possibility to probability. Fragmentary in the corpus.
